My friends Chip and Sara went walleye fishing with me on Lake Erie near Huron,. Won by a 10-lb margin, despite some crazy on-the-water shenanigans. Always thought that I needed to have a board release in order to fish big fish (salmon/steelhead), but have since learned that using the boards walleye style, that is, grabbing and unclipping the board, works alright on those fish too. these I put planer boards on.
